Video Editor — Full-Time

Location: Melbourne, Australia (Hybrid)

Misfit Minds is looking for a full-time Video Editor to join our growing YouTube team. This role is ideal for someone who understands online content, pacing, and audience retention, and who wants to work closely with creators to shape long-form and short-form video content.

While most editing can be done remotely, this role requires coming into our Melbourne office multiple times per week for collaboration, feedback sessions, and content planning.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Edit long-form YouTube videos with a strong focus on pacing, clarity, and retention

• Cut short-form content for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok

• Collaborate closely with the Misfit Minds team to develop editing styles, formats, and workflows

• Apply graphics, sound design, music, captions, and basic motion elements where needed

• Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced content schedule

• Take feedback efficiently and iterate quickly on edits

• Maintain consistent visual and editorial style across the channel

Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro

• Based in Melbourne, Australia (this is not a fully remote role)

• Strong understanding of YouTube content, especially long-form conversational or personality-driven videos

• Good sense of pacing, timing, and storytelling

• Reliable workflow, file management, and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently from home and collaboratively in-office

• Strong communication skills and openness to feedback

Nice to Have

• Experience editing YouTube podcasts, interviews, or documentary-style content

• Familiarity with After Effects for simple animations or motion graphics

• Understanding of YouTube analytics and viewer retention principles

• Experience working with creators or production teams
